Altar Work has changed my life

I have always loved having special pieces in my home that mean something to me like crystals, statues, gifts given to me by loved ones, pictures of family or deities. When I heard about altars years ago, I started consciously putting these items in 1 place to look at and liked how that felt but didn't really do much more with it than that.

I was fascinated to learn more about altars and then found my mentor and friend Reggie Riverbear. She is magic in human form. Her passion and love for altar work was contagious. I thrive on intentional practices and rituals that enhance my life. I saw how, if implemented, a daily altar practice could be something that would help me connect and align to myself and Spirit more. I truly had no idea how much my altar would shift my life!

It has become an anchor of energy in my home, a portal to Source, that I sit at daily in prayer and in deep listening. It is a space that I go to when I feel lost, intense grief, rage, love, joy, celebration. I come to my altar when I am desiring to manifest and create, to cleanse and clear my energy, or to expand and magnify my energy.

An altar is a sacred living thing, it is a technology that is a direct line to Universe, to Spirit. Everything is energy and has a consciousness, from your home to a rock to an altar. With our intention and the meaning we give the altar, we have the potential of enhancing the energy. And if you add in devotion and commitment to the relationship, you set yourself up for a transformational experience.

The beautiful thing about altar work is that you can not get it wrong, it’s not a religious practice and doesn’t even have to be a spiritual practice, although for me it has been one of the most spiritual rituals I do.

Just like any relationship the more you cultivate it, the stronger and more intimate it becomes. I have been committed to my altar practice for almost 2 years now. It is a place that feels like home, it is a place I go to when I am moving through sadness, loss, or when I feel confusion or gratitude. It is a place I go to to pray, to listen, to observe, to manifest.

Like I shared before, there is no right way to build or work with an altar, yet there are cross-cultural practices, and processes to altar work that shifts a” table with pretty things on it” to a sacred space that communicates to you, through you.

I have the desire to share the profound practice of Sacred altar work to anyone called and interested. I will be teaching about how to create one,  how to listen, to read and to work with your altar. I will teach the foundations of what you can put on your altar and what they all symbolize, incorporating the elements, the building blocks of this earth realm and YOU!

The Introduction to Sacred Altar Work Course will start in January on 1/11

(just casually helping you create a portal *your altar*, on a portal day 1/11!)

If an altar practice is something you feel called to, I would be honored to share with you what has become a staple and unwavering devotion in my life.
